James’ first area of expertise is employment law. In this field the law changes fast and frequently, and employers and employees should always take up to date advice as to their respective rights and obligations.

All clients find that James is approachable and responsive and that his advice is clear and to the point, notwithstanding what are often complex facts, laws and procedures. Many employers have benefited from James’ skills and commerciality in drafting contracts and policies, advising on redundancy schemes, disciplinary procedures, termination of employment and TUPE, and defending compensation claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination, etc.

James has also conducted many successful claims for employees. If James is your legal representative, you can be sure of accurate advice as the likely success of your claim and the level of compensation you are likely to be awarded. Every stage in the proceedings will be undertaken thoroughly and in good time. In short, if your claim has the appropriate merits, it will be successful and your compensation maximized.

James is also experienced in licensing, commercial contracts, commercial property (freehold and leasehold) and business sales and acquisitions (particularly licensed premises and residential care homes).

For many local businesses and professionals James is the first port of call whenever a legal issue arises.

Outside the law, James is a keen hockey player and a Spurs fan (but don’t hold that against him!).
