Community trade mark rulings apply throughout EU 

The European Court of Justice has confirmed that a decision regarding a Community Trade Mark (CTM) reached by a trade mark court in one member state of the EU should normally be binding throughout the rest of the EU. 

The benefit of this approach to owners of CTMs is that in order to obtain protection in other EU countries, it will not be necessary to seek separate rulings from local trade mark courts.
